US VISA INTERVIEW FAQ:
Why do I need
interview to obtain a U.S. Visa?
After
9/11 the U.S government introduced US visa appointments as one of the
policies to protect America from terrorist attacks. Since 2002 the US
government have made visa interviews obligatory for all visa
applicants. All non-immigrant applicants need to attend an interview
before obtaining a US visa.
Do I need to have valid emergency medical insurance to obtain US visa?
It is not obligatory, but very advisable to purchase emergency medical insurance as OHIP and other provincial health plans do not cover you while you are in the US. Consider the following: A four-day stay in a U.S. hospital for an appendectomy could cost $39,400 (USD), with only $1,600 (CAD) covered by your GHIP. A one-day stay in a U.S. hospital for a broken arm and wrist could cost $32,600 (USD), with only $400 (CAD) covered by your GHIP. If you do not have this insurance already it would be wise to order it now by clicking on the button below: .
If I will only be
transiting in the U.S., do I need a visa?
Yes,
U.S has stringent measures upon all entry points. If your country of
citizenship is not a member of Visa Waiver Program, you will need to
obtain a U.S. Entry visa even for transit. Canadian,
Mexican and Bermudan passport holders are exempt from holding a US
visa to enter the United States, although Mexican citizens may have
to apply for a border crossing card. Please
check the chart below to see if you are U.S. Visa exempted.

time for interview at any of the US consulate of your choice.
What's the earliest
appointment can you guarantee?
Averagely it takes 2-8
weeks to obtain a regular US visa appointment depends on the
consulate. Due to the nature of the consular service early
appointments can not be guaranteed. As long as you have completed the
application form and payment, we will try to get you the most
appropriate appointment according to your request.
I need visa not only for myself, but for my family members as well. What shall I do?
You have to fill out the on-line application form for yourself and pay for it. After that fill out the same application for each of your family members, but without doing the payment. Then contact us and we will email you the payment link.
Can you arrange me the
urgent appointment and how much is it?
There is no additional
charge for urgent appointment, however, the urgency of the
appointment is not guaranteed. You may be required to prepare the
proof to support your reason to obtain an urgent appointment(i.e.
Medical, death, lost or stolen visa). The urgent appointment could be
the next business day, you will be responsible for preparation of all
the documents and paperwork that might be needed upon interview.
VisaCenter visa agent will update the appointment with you on daily
basis if there's urgent appointment available. If your urgency
request is unsuccessful, you will still have a regular appointment.

Yes, we can help you with this too. Please contact us by email info[at]usvisatoronto.com for the instructions.
I've already purchased
my trip to U.S, what can I do?
The final decision will
be made by U.S. Visa officers in consulate/embassy. We do
not recommend to purchase the entire trip before obtaining your U.S.
Visa. If the trip is coming soon, we will try to arrange you an
urgent appointment. However, usvisatoronto.com will not bear any financial,
legal or other obligations whatsoever for clients' ticket or other
purchases, down payments, bookings or any kind of travel or other
arrangements that were done prior to the issuance of the visa or that
may be affected by processing times or denial of visa.
Please make sure you will
have at least 2 weeks for U.S. Visa processing prior to your
departure due to the operation of U.S visa booking system and DHL
delivery time.
If I have canceled my
trip, can I get full refund?
All the fees are non-refundable.
What if I'm not able
to attend the scheduled appointment?
Please contact usvisatoronto.com
at least 48 hours before appointment date if you are unable to
attend and we get you a new US visa appointment date. Our fee for this service is CAD75 + HST per applicant. Note: If you fail to turn up for a visa appointment at the
scheduled time, you might have risk of being denied when you re-apply
unless you can show sufficient document as evidence for a valid
reason.
